The Rewards of Hope

Dear Reader,

You are welcome into God’s presence in Jesus’ name!  This week, I want to share with you “The Rewards of Hope!”

Related Scriptures:  Proverbs 23:18; Exodus 2:23-25; Luke 7:10-12; Exodus 23; 1 Samuel 2; and Exodus 15.

When I think of the “Rewards of Hope” for believers, I think of God’s ultimate desire for all of us which is to be set free from bondage.  Therefore, I believe that the greatest reward of hope can be best described as “The Expiration of Bondage!” As believers are set free from the various types of bondage with which they are confronted, this opens the door to their next level of spiritual accomplishments; that is “an end of oppression” and “the beginning of fulfillment or success!  God assures believers of this in Proverbs 23:18 – For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. In other words, God wants us to know that things will not always be the same for us.  For where there is the end of something, there is the beginning of something else.  So, surely there is an end to the oppression or the difficult times that you might be going through…and afterwards, there is a beginning of a new day because your expectation shall not be cut off. Ultimately, after you pass through the Red Sea, you must be prepared to go to the next level!

In order to reach the next level, I believe that we must put our greatest trust or hope in God, our heavenly Father.  It is important for believers to understand that all “living hope” must be built on God and God alone. You cannot place your hope in yourself, other people or the material things of this world and expect to be totally fulfilled, successful or professionally accomplished.  That is why I say that all living hope must be built on God in order for believers to remain standing when all else goes contrary to their wishes and desires.  As we look at the story concerning the children of Israel and “The King of Egypt”, in Exodus 2:23-25, we see that they were in bondage and they cried unto the Lord and He heard them.  What was Egypt to the Israelites?  It was a system of oppression from which they wanted to be set free.  Hence, anytime it is time for people to be set free, God always sends someone to deliver them. However, as was the case with the Israelites, you can prolong your time in captivity!  This means that you can become your own worst enemy.  It depends upon what you do while you are in captivity or under oppression.  By declaring a situation as it exists (walking by sight, not by faith), moaning, groaning and complaining, you can prolong your time in captivity and your blessings will be withheld.  However, if you put your greatest hope in God and praise Him continuously for your desired expectation, then you will experience a faster liberation process from which you learn, grow and succeed in life and in ministry. Consequently, when you believe God for any of His promises concerning your life, your family, etc., then your reward must come because “your expectation shall not be cut off”! Just as God changed the situation for the widow whose only son had died, he can change your situation as well: (Luke 7:10-16). He changed “The Burial Ceremony” of her son into “A Celebration of Birth”.  Just as He spoke life back into that young man, He can speak life into any dead situation in your life.  If your dead situation is related to sickness or a spiritual or financial problem, God can bring it back to life! All you have to do is put your greatest trust and hope in Him and He will set you free from the Bondages of Life.

So, my dear readers, if you are in bondage, in captivity or under oppression, of any sort, remember the above Biblical accounts bondage and how God liberated the people. He set them free by ushering them to the next level:  the Promised Land or a new life to live again!  In parting, I would like to leave you with eight “Rewards of Hope” that you can experience as a result of being freed from captivity of any sort:

The Rewards of Hope  (Blessings from The Expiration of Captivity)
  • The Beginning of True Freedom
  • God’s Favor
  • Personal Fulfillment
  • Joy Unspeakable
  • Praise and Thanksgiving
  • Personal Ownership
  • Blessings of Mercy
  • Progress and Accomplishments

I call these “Blessings from The Expiration of Captivity” because after you are set free, “your expectation that shall not be cut off” will begin to surface in life and you will be fulfilled to the highest.  All you have to do is put your trust in, and continue to hope in God and your expectation shall not be cut off.  In addition, it is important to know that while you are “keeping hope alive”; you must remind God of His promises and what He has done for you in the past. Next, you must continuously worship and praise Him for His mighty and wondrous acts in your life. With these things in mind, performed and declared, you will soon move from your “Place of Captivity” to your “Next Level of Expectation” after which you will obtain “The Rewards of Hope!”
To begin, partaking of the rewards of hope, you must take the first step by inviting the Lord Jesus into your life. Pray this simple prayer “Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan so that I may serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Make me a child of God today. Thank you for accepting me into your kingdom”
If you have prayed this prayer then you have made the single most important decision of your lifetime. May the Lord grant you all the rewards of hope you desired.

“May God bless you until I come your way next week!”
