Arrow of Faith- The Power of Testimony

by

You are welcome into God’s presence in Jesus’ name. This week, I will be teaching on how testimonies can be used as an Arrow of Faith. God bless you as you read and digest the Word of God.

Anchor Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:32-50, Revelation 12:11

 Revelation 12:11

“And they overcame the by the blood of the Lamb and word of their testimony; and they Loved not their lives unto death”

 Power of Testimony

Testimonies are acts of God intervening in the lives of His people and in seemingly impossible situations. Testimonies are the exploits of God in the lives of believers and are the greatest arrows of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked aimed to stop their victory in Christ. They are faith boosters; faith re-charges batteries that give strength to the weary and discouraged believers.

My father in Lord, Dr. David Oyedepo said “only fools doubt proofs” For instance, a sister shared her testimony in our Church recently; she had a tumor at the back of her head for eighteen years and when a word of knowledge came forth from the altar that someone had a tumor, she received the word for her healing and God healed her. The tumor was removed from her head to her mouth and she vomited it. Another sister was diagnosed by the medical doctor of having lung cancer and through the application of the blood of Jesus, the cancer affliction disappeared. These are proofs that nobody can deny.

After hearing many numerous exploits of our God in setting the oppressed free and healing the sick, it stirs the faith of others in similar situations and makes them believe that the God who did for others will do it for them as well. So sharing your testimonies among the brethren is not storytelling, it is using the arrow of faith to face off with the devil. The devil knows that without faith you cannot access your inheritance in the Kingdom of God.

 Why do we give testimonies?

 1.       It re-boosts your confidence in God.

When your faith seems to waiver in the face of present challenges and trials, cast your mind back on past deeds of God and His faithfulness when all hell seems to have broken loose in your life. Immediately, your faith will gain strength and thus re-boost your confidence and ability to believe God again.1 Samuel 17:33-37.

 2.       It is a proof of the unlimited power of God

It is proof of His power to turn impossibilities to possibilities, the natural to the supernatural, limited man into unlimited God for uncommon manifestation. Jeremiah 32:17-21,27

 3.       It is a confirmation of God’s Word.

God’s Word always produces in the lives of those who believe His word. Isaiah 55:11 says ” So shall my word be that goeth forth out of mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent It” The Word of God you receive and believe always leads to the confirmation of His promises. God is always faithful to back up and fulfill His Word. His Word always precedes signs and wonders. Mark 16: 17-20.

 4.       Testimonies are acts of your gratitude to God.
Your testimony is an expression of your deep appreciation to God who against all odds, against medical verdicts, against all oppositions to your victory, intervenes and is the reason you prevailed. Psalm 124:1-8.

 5.       It is a tool of evangelism to others.

Because of the testimony of a Samarian woman in the gospel of John 4:39-42, many believed and became the children of God. Your own testimony can bring uncountable numbers of unbelievers to Christ. Start from your immediate family friends and co-workers; tell them what Jesus has done in your own life. Tell them that you serve a living God of signs and wonders.

To live a life of testimonies and possess the arrow of faith you need to first submit your life to the one who is faithful to fulfill all the promises he has for you, by saying this simple prayer “Father Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with the blood of your Son Jesus Christ. Deliver me from sin and satan, so that I may serve You, my maker and living God. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Make me your child and a joint heir with your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for accepting me into your kingdom in Jesus name, Amen”

If you have said this prayer, then you have made the single most important decision of your lifetime and your life will not remain the same.

“May God bless you until I come your way again!”
